Salicylic Acid 
Salicylic Acid is a form of beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and a real powerhouse blemish-fighting ingredient, which is why we’ve included it in all our Pure Skin products. It deeply cleanses and purifies the skin by removing dead skin cells and penetrating deeper into the pores to unclog them. This combined with its antimicrobial properties creates an effective action on existing blemishes but also helps prevent new blemishes from forming.

Furcellaria lumbricalis is a red-coloured algae that grows on rocks off the northern coast of Scandinavia. Also known as Carrageen, Agar-agar or ""Crab Bed, this hardy algae can survive low tides and dry conditions thanks to its superior rehydration capabilities. Red algae has hygroscopic properties, which means it easily attracts and retains water, making it an excellent ingredient to help invigorate, soften and revitalise the skin. 

Salicylic acid is a recognised ally in the fight against blemishes and an excellent ally for clear, healthy skin. It is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), exfoliating, smoothing and cleansing the skin of dead cells. Being oil-soluble means that salicylic acid can reach deep into the pore, cutting through sebum (oil) and clearing away pore-clogging debris that can cause blemishes to develop.
