Thanks to our social-selling business model, this allowed women the flexibility to work from anywhere. While a lot has changed since the 1960s, this flexibility and freedom still attract millions of women today — as well as the potential to meet new people, learn, travel, even participate in business conferences and workshops.
Here’s what our UK Brand Partner Meg has to say:
“Flexibility is number one. I got to a point where I’m flexible with my children and I spend so much time with them [...] I run a business of hundreds and hundreds of people and am able to do both, without sacrificing anything. For example, if I were a senior at a bank, I would not have the flexibility and freedom and be the mom that I am now. Oriflame gives me that.”
“Flexibility is number one”
1999: World Childhood Foundation
Every year, Oriflame’s business reaches around three million Brand Partners and about seven million customers. And from the very start, we strove to support various global charity organisations, including the World Childhood Foundation, founded by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden and co-founded by Oriflame and the Af Jochnick Foundation. The Oriflame Foundation provides grants to social projects that support women all around the globe.
In India, for example, we contribute to female education by supporting a school for women, which in the past decade has provided schooling to approximately 7,000 girls. In Morocco, accessory sales in a number of catalogues were developed by a select group of women, only to directly benefit them. We also sold candles, handmade by single Moroccan mothers in developing villages.
2009: Oriflame Foundation
We're passionate supporters of fulfilling dreams. In fact, this is all part of our business philosophy. That’s why in 2009 we started our Oriflame Foundation to further empower young women to change their lives for the better.
Together, we work alongside non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and charity organisations such as the World Childhood Foundation and SOS Children’s Villages. Through the power of education, our goal is to build young women’s self-esteem as well as help them to develop and strengthen their unique talents.
That’s why we tirelessly researched, taking the very best from nature and powering it with innovative science to create NovAge, safe and efficient skin care for everyone.
The launch of NovAge in 2015 has been our greatest skin care innovation to date. Thanks to groundbreaking, patented technologies, created by our leading scientists, NovAge means every woman can achieve healthy and radiant skin.
2017: Celebrating 50 years of success
Before 2020 changed the way we would normally celebrate as a company, in 2017, things looked a bit different.
Here, 6,000 people from more than 60 nationalities gathered on a cruise ship to celebrate Oriflame’s 50th anniversary. This was our biggest and most exciting Global Oriflame conference, with workshops, presentations, and more.
From inspiring personal stories told by Brand Partners, who discussed how Oriflame gave their lives new meaning, to a heartfelt talk from our CEO, the entire experience was unforgettable.
Here’s what one of our Brand Partners remembers:
“I did the speech at the conference and rang my kids straight after. My son, who was on a talent show with 300 people that day, picked up the phone. He said ‘Mom I’m so proud of you! You did it in front of 6,000 people’. That was the most wonderful day of my life.”
Committed to your safety and well-being, Oriflame continues to celebrate in 2021, albeit virtually through conferences and events, until we can all reunite again in person.
