Glossy lips
Y2K-fashion is back in full swing and that goes for make-up too! Plump, ultra-glossy lips inspired by the early 2000s are one of the biggest trends this season and ranged from natural lip colours to bold pops of orange-y reds in the Giambattista Valli and Blumarine spring fashion shows. Now that we’re finally mask-free we’re looking forward to rocking some shiny lips that everyone can see!

Neon make-up
The neon-trend is here to stay! The neon eyeliner and eyeshadows have been a growing trend on for the past few seasons and have been all over Instagram and TikTok lately. On the runway, bold fluorescent eyes dominated the looks in Chloe, Proenza Schouler and Versace. We could see everything from bright orange eyeliner to daring pink and blue eyeshadows all the way up to the brows, to double-coloured liner in shades of blue and green - always paired with clean skin and glossy lips!

Natural make-up
The natural no-make up make-up look is always in style! Loewes makeup look this season was pared back and clean with focus on natural, healthy-looking skin and a touch of clear lip balm. For fresh, perfected skin you want to go all in with hydration, hybrid make-up or a light and dewy foundation.

Thick winged eyeliner look
Eyeliner is a big trend in general this season and if you’re feeling a bit daunted by the neon trend, go big with black eyeliner, kohl pencil and black eyeshadow instead! We could see many variations of this dramatic look in Balenciaga, Chloe and Rick Owens. Let’s break down the different styles:

  • Sooty goth look - Black eyeshadow around the whole eye with wings that span out to the temples in Rick Owens and Balenciaga.
  • 60s-inspired double wing eyeliner – Double liner has been all over social media lately and could be seen on the runway with a 60s inspired look: two flicks of black eyeliner and some white eye pencil or negative space in between.
  • Thick and spiky – Chloe and Balenciaga had their models donning thick horizontal lines of eyeliner with long straight wings out to the temples.
  • Exaggerated curves – Valentino models sported thick, exaggerated eyeliner that started in the corner of the eye and curved up dramatically toward the temple.

Glittery 80s make-up
Glitter is everywhere right now and we’re here for it! 80s-style blue and purple lids are back, who would have thought?! Blumarine, Lanvin and Laquan Smith shows had models wearing glitter eyeliner, two-tone metallic shine eye shadow in violet, gold or dark blue. If the 80s blue-toned shadows and liners still make you cringe, you can never go wrong with intensely sparkly golden lids!

This season’s most popular looks have something for both the daring and the understated, so whether you go all in with a sooty goth look or bold neon eyeliner, or just a dab of ultra-shiny lip gloss and a natural base you’ll be right on trend!
