3 words that define your perfumery style: Daring. Textured. Surprising.
What makes a fragrance feel “niche” to you? That “never-smelled-before” sensation. When its uniqueness and addictive allure create an irresistible pull, making you come back to it again and again – unable to forget the emotion it awakened.
The ingredient note you’re currently obsessed with: Eucalyptus Neo Absolute, a warm, resinous and subtly honeyed note that evokes sunlit wood sap – bringing depth and sensuality to my creations.
A perfumery rule you love to break: The idea of a “wrong dosage.” For me, there’s no such thing. It’s simply finding the right companion that reveals an ingredient’s true beauty.
Your personality in a colour: Yellow. Radiant and creative, like sunlight that inspires collective energy, brings warmth where it’s missing and helps others shine.
The scent memory that shaped you: The first time I smelled Tuberose blooming in the garden of Givaudan Perfumery School. Its beauty became a symbol of new beginnings, reminding me of every step on my journey to become a perfumer – to never give up, to always follow my heart and my dream.
Jacek’s niche move: unexpected allure + daring dosage

“I love blending raw ingredients into something extraordinary”

3 words that define your perfumery style: Direct. Contrast. Textured.
What makes a fragrance feel “niche” to you? When it reveals real depth – through the quality and richness of its raw materials – and has a sense of originality.
The ingredient note you’re currently obsessed with: Lentiscus is my current obsession, a Mediterranean resinous material that reminds me of Italy and the seaside. I’m exploring its green, slightly sweet and incense-like facets to capture this maquis, aromatic coastal character.
A perfumery rule you love to break: I like to challenge what usually provokes rejection – working with notes or ideas that are considered undesirable, and turning them into something attractive. Mastering that transformation leads to originality and a real creative advantage.
Your personality in a colour: Deep ruby red. I’ve always been drawn to its richness and depth, connected to my fascination with minerals and stones. It carries something raw and human that feels very close to me.
The scent memory that shaped you: The smell of a summer thunderstorm – the warm air broken by sudden rain, the earthy scent rising from fields around my childhood home, the release of dry, crystallized smells… this made me aware of how strongly atmosphere can hold and transform scent.
Andrea’s niche move: transforming the undesirable + contrasted depth

Andrea’s niche perfume wins

Andrea’s niche approach to raw ingredients – turning traditionally rejected notes into attractive scents – resulted in the Givaudan Master Perfumers voting many of his creations into fragrance finalists. They’re fan favourites also, as two of his Eau de Parfums were chosen by Oriflame’s community as the winning perfumes.
Andrea bottled the perfect sunny morning in Top Scents La La Lime Eau de Parfum. Fizzing with optimism, this niche citrus perfume remixes the cologne code by Lime, Clean Linen & Akigalawood.

Top Scents Neon Oud Eau de Parfum clashes mellow warmth with bright lift. It has a bold vibe that’s impossible to ignore, as incense-laced woody oud meets neon fruits in an unexpected smoky fusion of daring energy.

Common thought: the one thing perfumers agree on

They all love fragrance, but every perfumer said that they personally don’t wear perfume! At least not to work, which makes sense given their noses need to be clear. As Jacek says, “staying scent-free allows me to evaluate my creations with complete neutrality and honesty.”

Julie Noé, France

Julie Noé, France
3 words that define your perfumery style: Experimental. Sensitive. Joyful.
What makes a fragrance feel “niche” to you? A fragrance without compromises – definitely not made to please everyone, and it doesn't say sorry about that.
The ingredient note you’re currently obsessed with: Dates! We don’t have "date extract" in the palette, so my new obsession is to recreate this sweet, super creamy, addictive and spicy smell.
A perfumery rule you love to break: That great perfumery is only for the elite. I want good perfumes to be for everyone.
Your personality in a colour: Blue! Because there are so many shades of it – so many possibilities.
The scent memory that shaped you: In the South of France we perfume everything with orange flower – pastries, babies, houses, laundry…
Julie’s niche move: unapologetic experiments + joyful optimism

Kosuke Minakata, Japan
3 words that define your perfumery style: Accord. Rupture. Metamorphose.
What makes a fragrance feel “niche” to you? One that dares to express personality and purpose beyond trends – a unique creative vision.
The ingredient note you’re currently obsessed with: I'm fascinated by Rosyfolia™ – the way it captures refined elegance of a fresh rose, while adding a modern, luminous dimension that keeps surprising me each time I work with it.
A perfumery rule you love to break: Think beyond the traditional top-middle-base pyramid.
Your personality in a colour: Silver.
The scent memory that shaped you: The quiet complexity of Japanese incense and the woody purity of Hinoki have shaped me since childhood. These scents feel like a home within my memory, a place I can always return to, that reminds me who I am and brings me back to a sense of calm.
